The NCS-3203 Multi-Rx II was designed to augment the operation of the NCS-3240
Multi-Switcher
(Click Here for Full Application Note) or to be used standalone for management of receive audio from up to 4
radios. The Multi-Rx II provides the ability to monitor the radio selected by the
Multi-Switcher in one speaker and the remaining unselected radios mixed together and
output to a second speaker.
The ability to mute any of the unselected radios as well as to independently adjust the
volume of the two audio channels (Selected and Unselected) dramatically reduces
operator confusion and fatigue when monitoring multiple radios. The Multi-
Switcher/Multi-Rx II is an excellent choice for contests, emergency operation or just
casual operating.
The STEREO/MONO switch in the STEREO mode allows the operator to listen to the selected audio in one
earpiece or speaker and the mixed unselected audio in the other earpiece or speaker. By switching to the
MONO mode the selected audio is routed to both earpieces/speakers and the unselected audio is
muted. This switch affects the headphone/headset audio, and the speaker audio.
A PHONES jack is provided for use of headphones or headset. The SPEAKER ON/OFF
switch allows the operator to turn off the external speakers if desired while using the
PHONES jack (always active).
